The Legacy of Old Rock
For over a century, the Old Rock Community Library has stood as a cornerstone of Crested Butte's educational and social life. Originally constructed as a schoolhouse in 1893, it transitioned into a community hub that fostered a lifelong love of learning. Today, the Friends of the Library continue this legacy by preserving the historic architecture while modernizing the space to meet the needs of a growing community. Our mission is to ensure that the unique character of this historic site remains a vibrant center for knowledge and connection for generations to come.
